"Ahleuchatistas" é uma banda americana de rock instrumental, para criar um som único eles misturam influências de jazz, rock progressivo, avant -garde e experimental. A banda foi formada

em "Asheville", Carolina do Norte, em novembro de 2002. Seu som está enraizada em uma grande variedade de influências sonoras e tradições musicais, além de ser uma banda de rock instrumental, há elementos de ruído, música Africana, ambient, psicodelia, música tradicional chinesa, garage rock, minimalismo, música clássica e música eletrônica. Também usam estratégias musicais de improvisação, tais como, mudanças bruscas de ritmo, tons melódicos e arranjos tecnicamente complexos são características proeminentes de grande parte da produção registrada da banda.
 Os membros originais da banda eram "Shane Perlowin" na guitarra, "Derek Poteat" no baixo e

"Sean Dail" na bateria. "Sean Dail" deixou a banda em maio de 2008 e foi substituído por "Ryan Oslance", um baterista de "Carbondale", Illinois. "Ryan" foi encontrado através de um anúncio que a banda fez no myspace procurando um baterista, ele então se dirigiu para "Asheville", fez o teste, e a banda imediatamente ensaiou por 25 horas durante um período de quatro dias. Isto foi seguido por mais 3 semanas com uma turnê nos EUA. "Ahleuchatistas" lançou sete álbuns e dois singles em diferentes gravadoras, incluindo a "Cuneiform Records", "Angura Som", "Tzadik Records" e pelo selo independente do guitarrista "Shane Perlowin" "Open Letter Records". Seu álbum "The Same and the Other" foi reeditado em 2008 pela "Tzadik Records".onde o influente compositor e músico "John Zorn" também deu uma força pra banda. O nome da banda pronuncia-se "AH-LOO-CHA-T-TAS" e é uma junção de "Ah-Leu-Cha" uma

canção de "Charlie Parker" e "zapatistas" o movimento revolucionário mexicano (revolução musical e revolução social combinadas em uma única cunhagem)
